What was the gun in that movie?
Any fan of firearms and movies ultimately finds themselves looking for easter eggs in the form of identifying firearms used in movies. I’m totally the nerd who looks for unusual guns such as the Chiappa Rhino or the CX4 Storm in films and in television and point them out with glee. I would find myself rewinding and watching the same scenes over and over to identify which guns were carried by who, and what variants exist.
Thankfully, I don’t really have to guess anymore, thanks to the Internet Movie Firearms Database.
The IMFDB is a mix of Wikipedia and IMDB, the Internet Movie Database. You can look up the gun itself (say, you wanted to see every movie that featured a Desert Eagle. One click shows you the breakdown for all instances of that firearm, both for television and movies. Additionally, let’s say you saw Bruce Willis in the movie Sin City and wanted to know what weapons he was using not only in that movie but in any movie he’s been in. You can look it up by the actor as well. While you were poking around the Bruce Willis page, you are curious of all the guns used in the movie Looper, of which he starred. You can look it up by movie title too!
While this doesn’t have much to do with owning firearms, prepping or anything else I usually cover, it’s a neat informational portal that I find myself lost in from time to time. Be careful going down that rabbit hole, though. After all, who needs to know how many guns Maggie Q has fired?
